About the role

What You’ll Do
• Operate and support OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) platforms hosting critical virtual machine workloads
• Own day-2 platform operations, including upgrades, patching, capacity management, and incident response
• Solve complex production issues across:
• OpenShift Virtualization / KubeVirt
• KVM and Linux virtualization subsystems
• OpenShift control plane and node components
• Networking and storage integrations
• Perform VM lifecycle operations including provisioning, live migration, snapshots, backups, and recovery
• Improve platform stability and reliability through automation, monitoring, and operational tooling
• Build and maintain automation using Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Lead root-cause analysis and drive corrective and preventative actions
• Partner with SRE, networking, storage, and security teams during incidents and operational improvements
• Create and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, and on-call playbooks
• Mentor other engineers and raise the operational maturity of the infrastructure

What You Need to Succeed
• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or virtualization engineering
• 4+ years of hands-on experience operating Red Hat OpenShift in production environments
• Strong, practical experience running OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) for VM workloads
• Deep understanding of KVM-based virtualization, including live migration, CPU pinning, NUMA, and hugepages
• Experience operating VM storage using CSI-backed persistent volumes
• Strong problem solving skills across Linux, virtualization, networking, storage and OpenShift
• Proven track record of automating repetitive tasks, maintenance activities or migrations using Ansible, Salt, Python and similar technologies
• Experience supporting highly available platforms with on-call responsibilities

Nice to Have
• Experience migrating workloads from VMware or traditional hypervisors to OpenShift Virtualization
• Familiarity with OpenShift networking (OVN-Kubernetes, Multus, SR-IOV)
• Experience with VM backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions
• Red Hat certifications (RHCE, OpenShift, OpenShift Virtualization)
• Experience operating large-scale enterprise VM platforms

Expected Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $159,200 -- $301,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

 

In California, the pay range for this position is $208,300 - $301,600

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
